Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Legacy Community Church, 528 E. Flinthills Blvd., Grandview Plaza, KS for SFC (Ret) Roy R. Long, 77, of Junction City with Pastor Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Long passed away March 22, 2006 at Valley View Retirement Center. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends Of The Animals, PO Box 580, Junction City, KS.

Mr. Long was born August 10, 1928, Kettle, KY to Clarence and Haley (Key) Long. He served 22 years of service, serving in Germany and Viet Nam. He married Jean Rohrer on January 22, 1955, she preceded him in death on May 29, 2003. Mr. Long was a member of the American Legion and the Legacy Community Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Marsha Long on Junction City, Carolyn Matson of Abilene, KS, son-in-law Harold Matson of Abiline, KS, one sister, Thelma Boles of IN, two brothers, Vanis Long of Celina, TN and John Long of IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Fred Long and two Sisters, Avo and Myrtle.

Pallbearers will be Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Musicians will be the Legacy Worship Band and Mary K. Thompson, Organist
