A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley with full military honors for Roy A. Tabor, 72, Junction City, Kansas. Reverend Nate Butler will officate. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be given to the Leukemia Society. Cremation service arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel.
Roy was born April 21, 1937, in Albany, Texas the son of C.S. and Bessie Tabor.
Roy retired from the U.S. Army. After retirement he worked for Schwann's in Salina, Kansas. He was a member of the American Legion. Also a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
He married Chukcha Kang October 29, 1979, in Junction City, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Jerry Thompson of Manhattan, Kansas and one daughter, Sherry Thompson of Junction City, Kansas. He is also survived by one sister, Barbara Roundtree of Albany, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
