Roswitha Metzler

Roswitha K. "Rose" Metzler, 61, of Milford, KS passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2016, from 1:00 pm. to 2:00 pm at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 805 Caroline Avenue Junction City, KS with a funeral services to follow on Friday, May 6, 2016, 2:00 pm with Pastor Brad Seifert with Highland Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date with military honors at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery 5181 Wildcat Creek Road, Manhattan, KS.

Rose was born on September 17, 1954, in Lohhof, Germany daughter to Daniel and Rita Driscoll.

She enlisted in the Woman Army Core, United States Army in 1972 as an army medic.

Rose went to school while in the military and earned her degree in nursing.

On May 07, 1975 Rose married Volker "Rudy" Metzler in Landstuhl, Germany. Rudy and Rose traveled with the military and settled in Milford, Kansas.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Volker "Rudy" Metzler of Milford, KS and her Son, Rudolf V.T. Metzler of Camp Pendleton, CA.

She was preceded in death by her mother Rita.
