Rosmarie Champ, 65, of Junction City, died April 13, 2013 at her home. She was born March 24, 1948 in Ludwigsburg, Germany, the daughter of Karl & Marie Prokes. Rosmarie grew up in Germany and graduated from high school and attended 2 years of college in Germany.
Rosmarie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Modern Woodmen of America. She had worked as a sales clerk at the Clothes Barrel, had been the asst. manager at Gibson's, an administrative assistant at Woolworths, and most recently a secretary at Coldwell Banker Real Estate.
Rosmarie married Dewaine L. Champ on October 21, 1972 in Junction City. Dewaine died October 28, 2010. Survivors include a daughter, Monica Champ-Rodriguez and husband Manuel, Junction City; 2 sisters, Helga Blazer, Junction City, and Karla Bass, Germany; 5 granddaughters, Madison, Morgan, Michaela, Macie, and Mya; 3 nieces, Tina Darby, Calif., Sandra Bolin and husband Curtis, Wamego, and Bobbie Joe Blazer, Michigan; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Rosmarie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a son, Michael Champ in 1991.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel with Rev. Dr. Joe Belardo presiding. The family will greet friends at the funeral home 12:00 p.m. until service time. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Champs Granddaughters Education Fund, sent in care of Sunflower Bank, 510 N. Jefferson, Junction City, Ks. 66441.
