Funeral services for Rosemarie Hollis, 68, of Milford, KS, will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Junction City, KS, with Pastor Norman Simmons officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Burial will be in Dwight Cemetery in Dwight, KS. Mrs. Hollis passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS.
She was born on January 12, 1943, in Mohrungen E. Prussia-Germany to Ernest Kunkel and Elfriede (Klein) Kunkel.
She married Howard Hollis in Mannheim Germany on July 22, 1960 celebrating 50 years together last year.
She was employed in the cafeteria by the USD #475 for over 30 years, and was also an Avon Representative for over 30 years. Rosemarie loved her family, cooking, her flower garden and her dogs.
She is survived by her husband Howard, her sons, Michael Hollis of Junction City, KS and William E. Hollis and wife Sylvia of Dwight, KS and daughter Diana Hanson and husband Steve of Omaha, NE,four granddaughters also survive, Darcie Boller of Omaha, NE and Brittany, Brooke and Bethany Hollis all of Dwight, KS and one brother, Reinhard Kunkel of Horb,Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Trautel Burkel.
