Rosalie M. Jaecke, 81, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home 203 N. Washington Street. Chaplain Nikki Medaris will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Milford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Rosalie was born March 22, 1935, in Junction City, KS, the daughter of Arthur E. and Ethel (Head) Larson. She was a lifelong resident of Geary County. Rosalie was a 1953 graduate of Junction City High School.
Rosalie married Wayne Jaecke on December 16, 1955. They divorced in 1979.
In her early years, she was employed by the Junction City Credit Bureau. In 1962 Wayne and Rosalie opened City Cycle Sales, where she did the bookkeeping, sold motorcycles and parts while Wayne turned the wrenches. After they divorced, she worked for Elliott's Body Shop and delivered flowers for Dillon's Floral. She owned several rentals and managed them for many years. Rosalie loved yard sales and was known by many in Junction City for the large sales she held several times a year.
Survivors include one daughter, Trudy Quelch (Stephen) and one son, Bradley Jaecke both of Junction City, KS; two brothers, Delbert Larson of Old Hickory, TN and Terry Larson (Alice) of El Paso, TX; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Melanie (Jaecke) Nett on August 23, 2009.
