RosaLee M. Chastine
RosaLee M. Chastine, 80, of Junction City, died Sept. 25, 2014 at Valley View Senior Life after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's . RosaLee was born Oct. 15, 1933 in Jackson, Missouri, the daughter of Marcel & Vallie M. (Hull) Pringle. She attended schools and graduated from Seventy Six (Mo.) High School.
She moved to Lansing, Michigan, where she met and later married Charles Robert Chastine in 1953. She worked for many years at Sparrow Hospital as an L.P.N., and later at the Lansing School District, working with students with reading difficulties. She was a wonderful and inspiring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Eugene S. Douglas and his wife Connie J., Junction City, and Jonathan Chastine and his wife Tracy, Melbourne, Florida; 2 daughters, Deborah Chastine, Detroit, MI., and Yvonne C. Waters, Toledo, OH.; a brother, Kenneth Pringle, Jackson, Mo.; 6 grandchildren, Taneka S. Abreu and her husband Michael, Stacey L. McClerkin, Ashlee M. Douglas, all of Junction City, Jason Waters, Toledo, Oh., Jonathan Chastine ll, Alaska, and Diamond Chastine, Melbourne, Florida; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, and a son, Reginald in 1976.
RosaLee's wishes were to be cremated, and her ashes buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, Michigan. No local services are planned.
