Rosabe Z. "Rosa" Moore, 91, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2019 at Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2019, at St. Xavier Catholic Church. The cremated remains will be buried at Fort Riley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Xavier Catholic Church.
Rosa was born August 20, 1928, in Lincoln, NM, the daughter of Christobal and Fuljencia (Benavidez) Zamora.
Rosa graduated from New Mexico State University with her Master's Degree in Education. She taught school for over forty years. She retired as an elementary school teacher at Jefferson Elementary at Fort Riley. After her retirement, she volunteered at St. Xavier School teaching English as a second language. She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church. Her hobbies included golf, bowling, trips to the casino, bingo every night of the week.
She married CSM Robert K. Moore. He passed away in 1986.
Survivors include three sons, John J. Moore and his wife Kimberly of Topeka, KS ,Gene Moore of Junction City, KS and Charles Moore of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Paulette I. Moore of Grandview, MO, Diana L. Shannon of Junction City, KS and RoseMary Nick and her husband Dan of Rome, OH; several siblings; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings and her son Christopher D. Moore
