Rosa M. Howard

Funeral services for Rosa M. Howard, 92, Junction City will be 10:00am, Friday, October 3, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington with Pastor George Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Wreford cemetery. Mrs. Howard passed away September 28, 2008 at Geary Community Hospital.. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday October 2, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church 805 West 8th Street., Junction City, KS 66441.

Rosa was born January 25, 1916 in Junction City, KS the daughter of Charles Clarence and Myrtle Matilda (Baldwin) Miles. She worked as a presser at the quartermaster laundry for over forty years at Fort Riley.
She married Merwin Howard April 28, 1934 in Abilene and he preceded her in death February 2, 1984.

Survivors include; five sons Martin Howard and wife Carol, Chapman, KS, Merwin R. Howard, Jr. and wife Nancy, Melvin Howard and wife Janice, Michael T. Howard and wife Agatha, and Milton Howard and wife Carolyn all of Junction City, KS; a daughter Eleanor Phipps, Junction City, KS; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Rosa was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Diane Howard, two sisters and a brother.
