Graveside services for Rosa J. Parvin, 75, of Junction City, KS will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Fort Riley Cemetery with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Mrs. Parvin passed away on February 5, 2011 at Stormont Vail, Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society,1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604.
Mrs. Parvin was born July 27, 1935, Ulm, Germany to Franz and Berta Manz. She married R.L. Parvin June 2, 1955, Colorado Springs, CO he preceded her in death May 12, 1979. She was a homemaker and she loved to go fishing and she loved her flower garden and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her five children, Harley Parvin and wife Lorraine of Miramar Beach, FL, Sue Parvin Rivera of Junction City, KS, Annie Parvin of Topeka, KS, Robert (Bub) Parvin of Junction City, KS and Billy Parvin and wife Trish of Abilene, TX, five grandchildren, Matthew Rivera, Jessica Parvin, Michael Rivera, Zachary Parvin and Kaitlyn Parvin and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and longtime companion, Frank Strom.
Pallbearers will be Larry Holcolm, Tom McCoy, Chris Schroeder and Matthew Rivera.
