Rosa "Ann" Pollard, 85, of Junction City, passed away Feb. 7, 2016 at Valley View Senior Living. Ann was born Rosa Annamarie Brey on Nov. 2, 1930 in Darmstadt, Germany, the daughter of Max and Paula Brey.
Ann was married to Sgt. Robert J. Spratlin from 1949 until 1962. During that time, as an Army wife, she, her husband and son were stationed between Germany and the United States. Ann moved to Junction City in 1961. After her divorce, she married T.A. "Dick" Pollard. Both Ann and Dick Pollard Owned and operated the Tropics Bar, and The Clothes Barrel. Ann operated her clothing store for 27 years. She took great pride in being a successful business woman.
Ann is survived by her son, Pete Spratlin and wife Candace, Junction City; a grandson, Sam Spratlin, Chicago, Illinois; a granddaughter Kelsey Spratlin, Panama City, Florida; and 2 great granddaughters. Ann is also survived by 3 step-children, Lynn Small and her husband Bob; T.C. Pollard; and Pam Pollard (who tragically has passed on Feb. 8, 2016); 3 granddaughters, Christina Swisher, Natalie Baguhey, and Leah Nagel; and several great grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, T.A. "Dick" Pollard.
Among Ann's many interests were visiting Las Vegas, playing slot machines, traveling to thoroughbred horse races, going to clothing trade shows, and whenever possible, generously taking friends and family out to eat. She also sponsored a T-Ball Team. Ann was, overall, a very generous person.
A Memorial Service for both Ann and Pam will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at B.P.O.E. "Elk's" Lodge #1037 in Junction City. Inurnment for Ann's ashes will be in Lyona United Methodist Church Cemetery later this year.
