Funeral services for Ronald A. Bush, 74, of Junction City will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Junction City with Pastor Leonard F. Gray and Pastor Don Yancheson of the Seventh Day Adventist officiating. Burial will follow the service with full military honors at Fort Riley Cemetery. Mr. Bush died June 27, 2006 at his home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2006 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue. Memorial contributions may be given to the Second Missionary Baptist Church, Stained Glass Window Fund, 701 W. 10th, Junction City, KS and/or Seventh Day Adventist Church, 10th and Jackson, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mr. Bush was born November 29, 1931, Toledo, OH to James and Thelma (Pope) Bush. He graduated High school in Toledo. He married Betty Perkins on October 3, 1953, she survives of the home. He was affiliated with the Seven Day Adventist and Second Missionary Baptist Church.
He joined the U S Army where he served for 20 years, retiring as a SFC at Fort Riley, KS in 1978. He then worked for the State of Kansas Correctional Facilities in Hutchinson and retired after 12 years, he then worked for J. C. transportations as a school bus driver for Fort Riley. He was a member of the VFW Post 8773, American Legion, Acacia Lodge # 91, Past High Priest (Holy Royal Arch Masons), Past Right Eminent Commander (Knights Templar), Past Grand Joshua (Heroines of Jericho), Past Grand Chief Engineer (Order of Cyrene), Past Illustrious Potentate Oasis #29, Past Worthy Patron (OES Gastava L. Gray Chapter) Member of AF&M (Europe 33rd Degree Mason).
He is survived by only son, Sylvester of Junction City, one granddaughter of Topeka, KS, two great-granddaughters, brother-in-law, Charles Perkins of Toledo, OH and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Fort Riley Honor Guard
Honorary Pallbearers will be Masonic Lodge Members
Musicians will be Frances Clark, Organist and Tamera Peterson and Komica Purnell as Vocalists
