Funeral services for Roland Paul Reinke, 81, of Junction City, Kansas will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline, Junction City with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in Junction City with full military honors. A visitation will be held from 6:00PM – 8:00PM on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Roland's name and may be sent to the funeral home. Mr. Reinke died Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Geary Community Hospital.
Mr. Reinke was born July 10, 1926 in Carter, South Dakota, the son of David and Elsie (Fettinger) Reinke. He was a retired Staff Sgt. of the United States Army having served 21 years, from January 17, 1946 until June 8, 1967. He was awarded 3 Good Conduct Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, 1 Oak Leaf Cluster Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the Army Occupation Medal. After his retirement from the Army, he went
Into Civil Service working as a cook at Irwin Army Hospital, retiring in 1987. He then worked at the Dorothy Bramlage Library in Junction City for about 10 years.
On November 23, 1962, he married Suk Cha Yi in Seoul, Korea. In 1963 they were stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. She survives of the home.
