Rodney Craig Lindsley

August 2, 2019 — September 7, 2019

Rodney C. Lindsley, 54, of Junction City, KS, died in his home September 7, 2019. A private burial will be held in Steele City, NE, at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

Rodney was born on August 2, 1965, in Omaha, Nebraska, to parents Merle C. and Mary J. Lindsley. After the untimely death of Rodney's father, he became the dependent of his brother, Jim and wife Debbie (Dillon) Lindsley. Jim's military career brought the family to Hanau, Germany. From there, he graduated from Hanau High School in 1983. He was a star athlete in football and wrestling. Upon returning to Junction City, Kansas, Rodney began his lifelong career of painting. In the 1990's he moved to Arkansas and built his own painting company. He married and later divorced. During this marriage he had three children: Levi, Luke, and Kathleen Lindsley. He returned to Junction City and worked for numerous painting companies. He settled into his job at Midway Mobile Home Park for many years until new ownership. As of recently, he worked for Morgan Painting.

Rodney had a sense of humor like no other. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching storms. He also enjoyed sports. Rodney was a fan of K.U. basketball, Royals baseball, and Chiefs football.

He will be missed by all who truly knew him.

Rodney is survived by his family: three children Levi Lindsley, Luke Lindsley, and Kathleen Lindsley; his brother Jim Lindsley; his sisters Rhoba Shipp (Danny), Ermel Heuer (Jim), Sandra Champlin (Rob), and Mary Maldonado (John); Debbie and Jim's children Jamie Lindsley (James), Betty Solis (Jake), Jay Lindsley (Jennifer), Bryan Lindsley; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary J. and Merle C. Lindsley and Debbie (Dillon) Lindsley, both his maternal and paternal grandparents Clifford and Blanche Lindsley and Oliver and Leote Messmer, and three brothers Robert Cornell, Michael Lindsley, and Aurther Lindsley.
