A Mass of Christian Burial for Roberta "Bert" I. Hannan, 77, of Junction City, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at the St. Xavier Catholic Church. Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb 15, 2010 from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m.at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, a vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Hannan passed away at Geary Community Hospital on Feb. 12, 2010.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions go to the American Diabetes Association, 10580 Barkley, Ste. 400, Overland Park, KS 66212 and Alzheimer's Association, Topeka Chapter, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr., Ste. LL-15, Topeka, KS 66601
She was born on Feb 20, 1932 in Sutphen Mill, Kansas to Clyde H. and Nellie O. (Braden) Jarrard. She graduated from Chapman High School class of 1949.
She married Donald Hannan March 23, 1951 Sutphen Mill, KS he survives of the home. She worked as the Credit Manager for Montgomery Wards, was the Office Secretary of Valley View and also the Office Manager of Valley Vista. She had also worked for Barco Company with her husband Don selling equipment to municipalities.
She was a volunteer for the organization Geary Community Hospital Auxiliary for many years and was an active member of St. Xavier Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Cyndi Bell and husband Joe of Clarksville, OH, Tami Love and husband Tony of Junction City, KS, one sister; Phyllis Jones of Junction City, KS, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Robertson.
