Robert D. Snody, 53, of White City, KS, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Geary Community Hospital. A graveside with military honors will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the American Legion Post #45 or to the Eagle Rider's #830. It is encouraged for everyone attending the visitation and or the funeral to wear casual clothing.
Robert was born November 6, 1967, in Morgan City, LA the son of Alvie Benard and Melba Lane (Callender) Snody.
Robert grew up and went to school in Tullos, LA. After graduating from high school, he worked as an electrician for off shore oil rigs. In 2002, he joined the United States Army. He was discharged from the Army in 2004. He worked for Government Liquidation at Fort Riley until 2016. Robert enjoyed living in the country and tinkering with his hobby farm.
He married Lisa Cripe September 4, 2011 on the farm in White City.
Survivors include his wife Lisa of the home; three sons, Corey Bridges, Daniel Bridges of LA and Caleb Snody of Lafayette, LA; one daughter, Ashlee Collins and her husband Kyle of Montgomery, TX; one grandson, Kayden Collins; his mother, Melba DeVille of Olla, LA; five sisters, Paula Snody of Olla, LA, Joanie Randall and her husband Rex of Olla, LA, Sondra Sanders and her husband Carlin of Independence, LA, Beth Meirthew and husband Jerry of Trout, LA and Beverly Wright and husband Jarrad of Urania, LA; step-mother, Belle Snody of Olla, LA.
He was preceded in death by his father Alvie Snody and his brother Alvie "Ben" Snody, JR.
