Robert R. "Bob" Dodd, 87, of Junction City, died August 3, 2016 at his home. Bob was born August 18, 1928 in Junction City, the son of Jesse R. & Edith (Kerr) Dodd. Bob was a graduate of Junction City High School graduate and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Bob was the long-time owner and operator of Big Bowl Lanes in Junction City. He enjoyed fishing, playing bridge and was a connoisseur of all genres of music.

Bob was a member of the 1957 American Bowling Congress' National Championship team. He also received a Certificate of Achievement for the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America, Inc. in 2003, as well as receiving the Kansas Women's Bowling Association's Lynn Dorton Friendship Award in 2006. Bob was also inducted into the Kansas Men's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1994, the Kansas State Bowling Proprietors Association Hall of Fame, and inducted in 2008 as the only Member Emeritus of the Kansas Bowling Proprietors Association.

Bob was a member of the V.F.W., the B.P.O.E. Lodge #1037, the Eagles Lodge, and was Past Commander of the Earl C. Gormley, Post #45 of the American Legion, all of Junction City.

Bob married Marge Malik Dodd. They were later divorced. Bob married Charlene Lawson on June 27, 1975 in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: 2 daughters, Debby Kasten and husband Wayne, White City, and Kellie Lawson, Kansas City, Missouri; 2 brothers, Jim Dodd, Junction City, and Larry Dodd and his wife Annette, Jasper, Georgia; a sister Bonnie Mathis, Lompoc, Calif.; 4 grandsons, Cameron Conway, Troy Dodd, Jamie Dodd, and Jeff Turner; and 3 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Dodd; and a sister, Neta Baldridge.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Ronnie Roberts presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Junction City. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Riley, KS. The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 7, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
