Memorial services Robert L. Blanken, 73, of Junction City will be1 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue. Mr. Blanken passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas, P.O. Box 3116 Wichita, Kansas 67201.
Mr. Blanken was born December 23, 1933, Junction City, KS to Bernard F. and Fern (Archibold) Blanken. He joined the Army in 1956. He married Kay (Hawk) February 24, 1962. He was owner and operator of B&K Amusement and Vending since 1968. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Kay of Junction City, one son, Robert S. Blanken of Junction City, KS, one daughter, Desree L. Smith of Sarasota, FL, one sister, Bernice Slade of Las Vegas, NV, half-sister, Alice Nations of Lawton, OK, two grandchildren, Cody B. Smith of Junction City, KS and Levi C. Smith of Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack M. Blanken.
