Rita was born February 6, 1939 in Hünfeld, Germany to Hermann & Emma (Jestadt) Klüber. She married Leon S. Lewis in 1969 and they later divorced.
Rita was a kind and generous soul who would help everyone who crossed her path. She was always there for people in their need of time, especially her sons. She would do anything for her boys. No matter what she had going on, she was always willing to stop and lend an ear or a hand. She was a "Grandma" at Lincoln Elementary, reading to the kids and helping out when needed. She enjoyed spending time with the kids.
She had her own quiet way of doing things, but always got her point across. Rita was a very strong individual who always overcame her obstacles. She enjoyed working in her many gardens and could be found outside at any given time, tending to her flowers. She always kept a beautiful garden.
Rita loved all of her grandkids and really enjoyed spending time with them. She was always at family get-togethers and enjoyed seeing all the kids play together. Rita was patient and taught everyone many things while they were growing up. She always had a story and was really a joy to be around. Rita loved KU Basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs Football. She was a very special lady, and everyone that knew her enjoyed being a part of her life.
She is survived by her two sons, Leon Lewis and Frank Lewis both of Junction City, five grandchildren; Ryan, Malik, Cheryl, Courtney and Emma, one brother, Gunter Klüber and one sister, Anita Pitts both of Germany.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents.
