Richiko Laster

December 15, 1928 — March 13, 2018

Richiko Laster, known as "Cookie", 89, of Junction City, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Geary Community Hospital. Richiko was born December 15, 1928 in Tochigi-ken, Japan.

She did all of her schooling in Japan.

Richiko lived in Junction City for over 50 years, and worked for many years at the Quartermaster Laundry on Ft. Riley.

She married Robert Lee Laster, Sr. on Sept. 21, 1955 in Yokohama, Japan. Robert survives of the home. Other survivors include: a step-son, Robert Laster, Jr. and his wife, Ellen, Columbus, Georgia; a step-daughter, Monica Lacy, Junction City; 3 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel with Dr. Larry Jones presiding. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Riley, Manhattan. The family will greet friends on Monday evening, March 19, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
