Richard N. Anderson, 83, of Milford, died on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Alterra Sterling House in Junction City. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. with a vigil service at 7:30 pm. A private graveside service will be held at Milford Cemetery on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 with Fr. Al Brungardt officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the KU Endowment - Alzheimer's Disease Center, 3901 Rainbow Boulevard, Mail Stop 3012, Kansas City, KS 66160.
Richard was born on August 12, 1929 in Little River, Kansas to Hilmer and Georgia Bee Anderson.
Richard has been a long time resident of the Junction City and Milford, KS area and worked locally as a plumber. He served in United States Marine Corps and fought proudly overseas during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg" Anderson of Milford, and two daughters, Shelley Anderson of Manhattan, and Kelley and husband Dave York of Junction City. He is also survived by one grandson, Bryson York. Richard's brother was Hilmer Anderson, Jr. of Mission Viejo, CA who passed away on October 7, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilmer and Georgia Bee Anderson.
