Funeral services for Richard McRae, 75, of Junction City will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene in Junction City, KS with Pastor Jim Bond officiating. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will take place 6 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City. Mr. McRae passed away at his residence on October 25, 2008. Memorial contributions may be given to the Church of the Nazarene.
Richard was born August 23, 1933, in Manhattan, Kansas the son of John and Lola (Edgerton) McRae. He moved to Junction City when he was twelve years old.
Richard worked for McRae TV Center with his father and brothers. Later, he owned and operated McRae TV with his brother Jim and later owned and operated the Furniture Warehouse. He was a home builder in the Junction City area for thirty five years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1037.
He married Wanda Devin June 4, 1954, in Junction City.
Survivors include his wife Wanda of the home; his mother Lola McRae of Chapman, KS; two daughters, Linda Holzer and her husband Bill of Junction City, KS and Kimberly McRae of Junction City, KS; three grandchildren, Rhyan Holzer of Leawood, KS, Adam Holzer and his wife Gina of Junction City, KS and Nicole Holzer of Junction City, KS; three great-granddaughters, Shelby Holzer of Leawood, KS, Alysha Holzer and Morgan Holzer both of Junction City, KS. He is also survived by three brothers, Bill McRae of Indio, CA. Jim McRae of Chapman, KS and Tom McRae of Milford, KS.
He was preceded in death by his father John McRae and one brother, John Rae McRae.
