Richard Lee Bartlett

A memorial service for Richard (Rick) Lee Bartlett, 50, of Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Mr. Bartlett passed away at his home on September 25, 2010. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials are made to the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441.

Rick was born June 23, 1960 to Robert and Wanda (Graves) Bartlett in Ada, OK. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1978. He attended Garden City Community College and Kansas State University. He was employed by Dillon's Food Stores and BJ's Convenience Store in Junction City.

Rick enjoyed traveling with family and friends, history and touring Civil War Sites. He also enjoyed watching all sports, he loved animals, especially his dog Sammy.

He is survived by his mother Wanda of the home, brothers, Bob Bartlett and his wife Jane, Ron Bartlett and his wife Caroline, sister, Jennifer Nierodzik and her husband Ed and their children, Kristi and Wyatt, his aunt, Carmen Henderson of Owasso, OK. His close friends Kevin and Sally Westover and various nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob and his sister, Rebecca.
