Rexine J. Brown

Rexine J. Brown, 83, of Junction City, passed away November 29, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2004, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Funeral service will be Friday, December 3, 2004, 11 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel with Pastor Dale Plummer officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery

Ms. Brown was born April 14, 1921, in Marysville, KS, daughter of August H. and Ethelyn (Nider) Keller. She moved here with her family from Marysville in May 1932. Ms. Brown attended school in Junction City from sixth grade on, graduating from Junction City Junior-Senior High School with the class of 1939.

Ms. Brown worked at the Fort Riley Officer's Club from 1942-1951 as an Accounts Receivable Clerk and Receptionist. She then worked for the Fort Riley Post Exchange for 17 years as a Personnel Clerk and Personnel Manager. Ms. Brown retired July 2, 1987 at the Law Firm of Hoover, Schermerhorn, Edwards, Pinaire and Rombold Chartered. She had worked there for 14 years as a Secretary/Receptionist. Ms. Brown was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Scott K. Brown of Junction City; daughter, Pamela S. Fair of Topeka; twin sister, Maxine J. Keller of Junction City; one brother James R. Keller of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Brett Jordan Fair and Jensen Brooke Fair of Topeka and Dallas Chancler King and Christopher Jacob King of Junction City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Hunter, Mark Edwards, Richard Pinaire, Glen Fair, Mark Devin and David Skinner.
