Funeral services for MSG (Ret) Rex W. Fletcher, 66, Junction City, KS will be 1p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date at Kansas Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel 203 N. Washington. Mr. Fletcher passed away March 22, 2008 at Stormont-Vail Healthcare Center in Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the Isis Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 2778, Salina, KS 67402-2778 and/or the Friends of Animals, P.O.Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mr. Fletcher was born September 6, 1941, Grand Island, NE to Aaron R. and Rita M. (Collins) Fletcher. He served in the U S Army retiring after 25 years of service as a MSG. He served in the Viet Nam war and received the Combat Infantry Badge, three Silver Stars with V Device, five Bronze Stars with Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palms. He married Sharon Marshall September 14, 1968 she survives of the home.

Mr. Fletcher was a member of the Union Lodge #7, Scottish Rite, Junction City & Ft. Riley Shrine serving on the Board of Directors as Vice President and President, he was also a member of the JC/Ft. Riley Mini Wheels and Classic Cars serving as Vice President, a member of the American Legion, VFW, BPOE, Army/Navy Club and the American Veterans Association.

He is also survived by three sons; Kelly Fletcher of Virginia Beach, VA, Kevin Fletcher of McKinney, TX and Kirk Fletcher of Fairbury, NE, one daughter; Karla Jack of Junction City, KS, two sisters; Karen Clark of Grand Junction, CO, Daisy Thomas of Tavares, FL, two brothers; Michael Fletcher and Bob Fletcher both of Grand Island, NE, thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and two god children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Lavonne Czaplewski.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Tague, John Neis, J.D. Griffith, George Spencer, Ken McLain and Richard Lacey.
