(Ret.) SFC David Lee Gibson, 76, of Junction City, KS, passed away on September 24, 2018.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan, KS, with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating.
Memorial contributions have been designated to the organization of the donor's choice.

David was born on July 10, 1942, in Racine, Wisconsin. After high school, he joined the United States Army. He proudly served for over 20 years.
He earned many awards while serving his country. They include but are not limited to: Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal W/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/Palm, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon "2", Marksman (M-16 Rifle), Marksman (.45 Cal Pistol).
While stationed in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, he met Janet Smith who was also a service member. They married and moved their small family to many duty stations ultimately retiring in Junction City, Kansas.
David is survived by his loving family: his daughter Mary Forgey and her husband; his son Matt Gibson; and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Gibson.
