Renee Lucille McClinton-Mathews passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 at her home in Junction City, KS. Cremation has taken place. No memorial service is planned at this time.
She was born November 12, 1954 on the Blackfoot Native American reservation in Oklahoma.
She lived a full and vivacious life. If you met her once, you would automatically remember her for the rest of your life. Renee never accepted no for an answer from anyone. The best way to get her to complete a task was to challenge her that she couldn't do it. She graduated from Raytown South High School and went on to pursue a career in modeling for the next several years. Later she started a career working with the elderly as a CNA and then later a LPN. In the late 1980's she married and moved to Junction City and fell in love with the area. She began working with the VFW as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and was best known for years as Junction City's Easter Bunny. Renee divorced and enjoyed working in the garden, making jewelry and completing DYI projects in and around her home. She loved to shop, travel and enjoyed watching movies. She was a participate of the Wiccan faith. Renee is survived by her daughter, Melba Mathews, grandson Austin Mathews (Gabrielle), sister Denise Stoval (Dell), a host of nieces and nephews. She also had a close circle of friends that were like a second family to her that will surely miss her.
