Rebecca (Becky) D. Willis, 73, of Junction City, passed away on January 2, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice House.
Becky was born on October 1, 1950, to James and Imogene (Padgett) Steele in Little Rock, Arkansas. After being born in Arkansas, her parents moved to California. During her high school years, she was very active with her church, Ashland Park Baptist. She spent many hours assisting with their youth programs, Sunday schools, and singing with their choir. After graduating, she moved north to the Bay area to pursue a degree with San Jose State University. She graduated with a master's degree in Psychology and a bachelors in business, then followed by her vocational nursing degree.
While living in the Bay area, she met her husband, Terry and shortly after, they took their family to Germany for a deployment. Upon returning to the United States, they made their home in Kansas raising their son.
While living in Kansas, Becky worked for Army Community Service until her retirement in 2019, honoring her military community for 10+ years. She was the Fort Riley Installation Volunteer Coordinator and retired as the Army Community Service Readiness Manager.
One of her favorite seasons was during the Christmas time. She volunteered decorating the trees on Fort Riley every year, making it most special for the soldiers and their families. Becky also enjoyed decorating her home, her family's homes, and her church with her handmade decorations. Her family and friends will greatly miss the way she turned any holiday special for her loved ones.
Becky is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Terry Willis; one son, Christopher; one sister, Lori; two brothers, Joe and David; three grandchildren, Finley, Vincent, Jemma, and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded by her mother and father.
