Raymond A. Bowers,Jr. 64, of Junction City passed away at Valley View Nursing Home in Junction City, Kansas on January 8, 2013 after battling Pancreatic Cancer. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Wilkesboro, NC with full military honors burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in North Carolina.
Raymond was born January 18, 1948, in North Wilkesboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Bowers Sr. and Catherine Barber Bowers. He married the love of his life Althea O. "Miggie" Bowers on July 19, 1969. She preceded him in death. He is retired military and civil service.
His passions outside of his professional life included traveling, being a great grandfather to his grandchildren, and bowling.
He is survived by his aunt, Wihelmina Barber, daughter, Michele Y. Felix and husband Eddie Felix of Northridge, California, son, Raymond A. Bowers,III and wife Pam of Charleston, SC, six grandchildren, Merquay and Jaden Eason both of Atlanta, GA, Darien, Kaelan and Aedan Bowers all of Charleston, SC, and unborn granddaughter of Michele and Eddie Felix.
