Randall D. Knudson

February 21, 1957 — October 5, 2020

Randy D. Knudson, 63, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Via Christi Rehabilitation Center in Manhattan, KS. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020, at the Dwight Cemetery. A visitation and reception will be held 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the Brown Real Estate and Auction House 2323 N. Jackson Street in Junction City. Memorial contributions are suggested to the organization of the donor's choice c/o Johnson Funeral Home.

Randy was born February 21, 1957, to Paul and Virginia (Arnett) Knudson in Junction City where he lived his entire life. He followed his fathers footsteps and worked at Geary County for forty years, and retired in 2017 as an Assistant Road and Bridge Supervisor. Many people would remember him from the years he worked at "The Devils Tail" and Browns Auction House.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Virginia (Arnett) Knudson.

Randy is survived by his three children. Brittany Tuter (Lee) of Kansas City, MO, Mallory Knudson (Justise Campbell) of Arlington, TX and Gage Knudson of Alhambra, CA, three grandchildren, Ella and Ace Campbell and Lincoln Tuter, who he loved dearly, brother, Mike (Diana) Knudson of Abilene, KS; and sister Patricia Rondash of Topeka, KS along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was married to Julie Hess-Knudson, later divorced but still remained friends over the years.

Randy graduated from Junction City High School in 1975 and participated and competed in football and wrestling. He was a Junction City Blue Jay til the very end.

Randy was a cheerleader for his children. He was a dance/softball/football/basketball/wrestling dad. He was always there to cheer for his children and never missed a event. He coached softball and was part of the Dickinson County Softball Association and coached wrestling for the Geary County Grapplers. His proudest moments was being able to coach his son and to follow his legacy as a wrestler. He will always be remembered for his smile, laughter and encouraging words to all kids not just his own.
