Memorial services for Ramsey Harmon Martin, 26, of Junction City, KS will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Kenton Van officiating. No visitation is planned cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Ramsey passed away due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on April 2, 2009. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be given to the First United Methodist Church, 804 N. Jefferson Street, Junction City, KS 66441.
Ramsey was born April 1, 1983, Abilene, KS to Kenneth A. and Melinda (Harmon) Martin. For a short period the family had lived in Herington, KS before making their home in Junction City. Ramsey graduated from Junction City High School in 2001, while in High School he played the tuba in the JCHS Band. He went to work for 1420/KJCK March 27, 1999 as a DJ. He worked every Sunday morning for 1420 and never missed a Sunday. He was always reliable and cheerful and always had a smile on his face. Ramsey also worked as a Club DJ and for a while at Curt's Pest Control.
Ramsey loved music and he loved to sing and was a vocalist for several local bands throughout the years.
He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Melinda Martin of Milford, KS, three sisters, Megan Martin of Lawrence, KS, Sally Morris of Lawrence, KS and Sarah and Bill Cox of Salina, KS, Maternal Grandmother, Marjorie Harmon of Protection, KS and Paternal Grandparents, Reverend Gerald and Luella Martin of Clay Center, KS and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Billy Ward Harmon.
