Funeral services for Ramsey Dow "R.D." Foster, Jr., 92, of Junction City will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel with Reverend Dr. Brett Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m until time of service at the chapel. Mr. Foster passed away July 6, 2007 at Valley View Professional Care Center. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church, 804 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mr. Foster was born February 15, 1915, Talihina, OK to Ramsey Dow and Annie (Taylor) Foster, Sr. He joined the Navy November 19, 1943 serving 2 years in WWII and earning the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific 1 Star. He married Clara Louise (Wilson) October 2, 1938, Junction City, KS. She preceded him in death April 8, 1999. Mr. Foster worked for KPL for 10 years then as an electrician for Civil Service at Fort Riley retiring in 1976. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion, VFW, NARFE and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He is survived by his son Robert E. Foster of Lakeland, FL, three grandchildren; Lori Ladouceur, Scott Foster and Brett Foster and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Murrison, Jack Murrison, Clint Ladouceur, Richard Cooper, Wayne Dishman and Nicklaus Ladouceur.
