Ramona H. Newman

Ramona H. Newman, 52, of Junction City, KS passed away at Geary Community Hospital on January 5, 2009. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be given to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506-3901.

Mrs. Newman was born July 27, 1956, Neuburg, Germany to Gerald and Ria (Schwab) Hendrick. She married Mark Newman February 4, 1974, Manhattan, Kansas and they moved to Junction City in 1976. She worked for 12 years at Woolworth Distribution Center and then went to work at Russell Stover as a lead worker in 1995 leaving there in 2007 due to illness. She loved her flower gardens, quilting, fishing and mostly enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Mark of Junction City, her mother, Ria Hendrick of Junction City, one son, Jamie L. Newman of Fort Mitchell, AL, two daughters, Misty J. Newman of Manhattan, KS and Heidi M. Brochsmith of Junction City, KS, two brothers, Terry Hendrick of Junction City and Gerald Hendrick, Jr. of Spicewood, TX, three sisters, Brooke Hendrick and Barbara New both of Junction City and Linda Bailey of Austin, TX, three grandchildren and two on the way.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Danny Hendrick.
