Phyllis Elaine Taylor Battles, 74, of White City, Kansas, departed this life on June 29, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas.
She was born September 18, 1938, in Junction City, Kansas, to parents Kenneth and Kathlyn (Brookhouser) Taylor.
Phyllis was extremely skilled at crafts. She enjoyed making jewelry, macramé, and other hand-made gifts for her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Battles; a brother, Charles Scott Taylor; and a sister, Judith Irene Sanchez.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children; Margaret Torres of Kansas; Richie Howard of Idaho, and Daniel Howard and Michael Howard of California. She also leaves behind two brothers, William Taylor of Texas and Kenny Taylor of Kansas; and two sisters, Barbara Taylor of Kansas and Karen Cooper of California. In addition, Phyllis also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, with a sixteenth great-grandchild on the way.
The family encourages that donations be made in Phyllis' memory to the Good Shepherd Hospice House at 3801 Vanesta Drive, Manhattan, KS 66503.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
