Pfc. Curtis L. "Tre" Wooten, III, 20 of Spanaway, WA, was killed January 4, 2005 in Balad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle.
Mr. Wooten was born April 18, 1984, in Fort Riley, KS to the union of Curtis and Dairyene Wooten.
Mr. Wooten graduated from Spanaway Lake High School and joined the army in August 2002. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany. Mr. Wooten was a tank gunner.
He was deployed to Iraq, January 4, 2004, where he served this nation honorably for one year.
Survivors include his mother Dairyene (Dee) Wooten; father and step-mother, Curtis and Deborah Wooten; brother, Antoine Wooten; sister and step-sister, Celestiane Wooten and Laleesa Givens; grandmother, JoEtta Brannon; aunts, Yolanda Brannon and Darlene Thompkins; uncles Dwayne Wooten and Earl Thompkins; and a host of family and friends.
