Peter A. Charowhas

Mass of Christian Burial for Peter A. Charowhas, 67, Junction City, KS will be held 2:00pm Friday March 20, 2009 at St, Xavier's Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington with a vigil service at 7:30pm. Peter passed away March 17, 2009 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial contributions may b e made to St. Xavier Catholic Church 218 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441.

Pete was born October 12, 1941, Topeka, Kansas to Peter A. Charowhas, Sr. and Etta L. Root. He married Linda R. Scott October 3, 1963. Pete was semi-retired. He drove a taxi van transporting troops in Fort Riley.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, daughter Kim Bergmann and son in-law David of Lawrence, Kansas, son Peter A. Charowhas Jr. and daughter in-law Candy of Ellsworth, Kansas, son Michael of Junction City, Kansas.

Five grandchildren Garrett, Blake, and Jensen Bergmann, Sailor and Ava Charowhas, Sisters ,Cherie Minkowitz, Germantown, New York, Dorothy Smith, Manhattan, Kansas, Valerie Terzi, Manhattan, Kansas, Anita Schmedemann, Dwight, Kansas, and a brother Ralph Schmedemann, Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his father Peter A. Charowhas, Sr., mother Etta L. Schmedemann, and step-father Ralph Schmedemann, and granddaughter Sierra Bergmann.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of St. Xaviers Catholic Church.
