Penny Jo Hauserman, 73, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Saturday, December 30, at Geary Community Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday. January 5, at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Kyle Berens officiating. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 4 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Chapel with a Vigil Service starting at 7:30 p.m. Burial will follow the service Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery. Penny was born January 3, 1944, in Erie, PA, the daughter of Theodore and Joyce (Rodgers) Meiners.
Penny worked for Dunn Van and Storage Moving Company. She later worked at Fort Riley as an Inspector and Supervisor in the Transportation Department with DOL. Her last career was working for Academy Movers. Penny enjoyed spending time with her family, pets and was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church. She spent many hours working in her flower garden and reading. She attended Kansas State University.
She married Gary Hauserman June 23, 1962. He passed away January 3, 1993.
Other survivors include one son, Layne Hauserman and his wife Tamra of Salina, KS; one daughter, Kari Hauserman of Junction City, KS; one brother, Michael Meiners and his wife Sharon of Carbondale, CO, one sister Lori Muehlbauer of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren, Shayna Dallas and her husband Trey of San Angelo, TX, Kelsey Hauserman of Shawnee, KS and Morgan Hauserman of Manhattan, KS; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Ted (Theo)Meiners.
