Funeral Services for Paul Allen Garland, 68, Junction City will be 11 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Pentecostal Church at 5th and Adams Street. Pastor William Ocean will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Garland passed away Friday, September 12, 2008, at his home. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Basic Cancer Research, KSU Foundation Center, 2323 Anderson Suite 500 Manhattan, KS 66502-2911.
Paul was born April 14, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio the son of Verbie and Elnora (Young) Garland.
Paul retired from the United States Army. He later worked for U.S.D. #475 as a custodian until his retirement. He was a member of the Community Outreach Ministry in Junction City.
He married Dorothy Crane January 18, 1978 in Junction City. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Clifford Crane. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Verbie Garland, Jr. and four sisters, Helen Cotton, Mary Mitchell, Gladys Davis and Jessie May.
Other survivors include three daughters, Pamela Harbor of Wichita, KS; Sherry Garland of Toledo, OH. and Katherine Brown of Jackson, MS. He is also survived by one sister, Margaret Cassamba of Toledo, OH. He is survived by nine grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends including a special friend William Clark
