Funeral services for Patrick K. Ryan, 28, of Junction City, KS will be Thursday, June 7, 2007, 10 a.m. at the City of Junction City Municipal Building, 700 N. Jefferson. Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Burial will be held at St. John's Cemetery. Patrick will lie in repose at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. today. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Heart of America Chapter, 5799 Broadmoor, Suite 504, Mission, KS 66202 and/or to the Junction City Firefighters Patrick Ryan Fund, P.O. Box 1281, Junction City, KS 66441.
Patrick was born May 12, 1979, Junction City, KS to Michael L. and Teresa L. (LaMont) Ryan. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1997 and from Cloud County Community College in 2000 with a degree in accounting and also attended Kansas State University. He worked as a technician for Wizard Electronics for 9 years earning a Lifetime Achievement Award for Superior Customer Services from Pioneer Electronics, JVC of America, and Panasonic Electronic Services. Patrick was instrumental in making it possible for Wizards being honored as 1 of only 6 Panasonic Select Service Departments in North America. He performed over 25,000 repairs under warranty with a 100% customer satisfaction rating. When Patrick was hired he had no experience with electronics. He was trained by Ken Wisby and attended several training seminars. He became very close friends with the Vice-Presidents and CEO's of several electronic manufacturers including Pioneer and Panasonic, and attended several ballgames with these executives in St. Louis during transplant check-ups.
He is survived by his parents; Michael and Teresa Ryan of Junction City, KS, his brother Shawn Ryan of Junction City, KS, his grandmother; Mary LaMont also of Junction City, KS, his grandfather; Lawrence "Bo" Ryan of Abilene, KS. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Rick and Pam LaMont, David LaMont, Tina and Ron Denton, Kate and Tom Lovelace, Charles and Anita Ryan, Francie and Bill Hockensmith, Cecilia and Bill Muckenthaler, Louise Ryan, Marilyn and Brad Sidener, Joan Boller and Bernie and Dean Nogle. He is also survived by numerous family and friends whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Donald LaMont and grandmother; Bernadine Ryan.
Pallbearers will be Chris Booth, Brian Field, Matt Jackson, Jeremy McCallum, Craig Paxton, Chris Schroeder and Dennis Wetklow.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cliff Engstrom, Rex Field, Walter Holt, Dean Nogle, Perry Sharp, Ken Wisby and Mick Wunder.
