Patricia A. Waite, 43, Junction City, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. Reverend Audrey Toombs will officiate. A visitation will take place 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. Patricia was born March 30, 1965, at Fort Riley, Kansas the daughter of Napolean and Rosemary M. (Coleman) Wormly, Jr.
Patricia graduated from Kansas State University with a B.A. Degree in Social Science. She continued her education at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. At Newman University she received her BA Degree in Elementary Education as well as a Teaching Certificate. She also received a second major in Theology. Also, she graduated in the top of her class with a 3.5 GPA and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She taught in elementary schools for the Kansas City Missouri School District. She also was a substitute teacher for U.S.D.# 475 in Junction City. Patricia enjoyed music, photography and taking walks. She enjoyed visiting museums and zoos. She also enjoyed playing with her daughter Maya. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Napolean and Rosemary Wormly of Junction City, one daughter, Maya Indigo Waite of Junction City, two sisters, Michaelle Wormly of Houston, Texas and Sheryl Jeanette Robinson and husband David of the Woodlands, Texas. She is also survived by two nephews, Isaiah and Napolean Robinson and an Aunt, Florence Green of LaMarque, Texas and a host of Cousins and friends.
