Patricia A. "Patsy" Schad, 71, passed away February 17, 2008 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, February 21, 2008, at St. Xavier's Catholic Church, located at 3rd and Washington Streets in Junction City, KS. A visitation will be held from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline, Junction City.
Patsy, as she was known to her family and close friends, was born June 20, 1936 in Ellis, Kansas, the daughter of Marcella (Walters) and Raymond Dreiling. She graduated from Chapman High School in 1954, and was the school's first homecoming queen. She married Jerry L. Schad, son of Mildred and Henry Schad, on January 26, 1957. The couple took up residence in Junction City, Kansas.
Patsy and Jerry soon gave birth to a son, Terry Schad, a resident of Junction City, on January 8, 1958. A daughter, Kathy (Schad) Henderson, also a resident of Junction City, followed on November 23, 1960. A second son, Tom Schad, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, was born to the couple on October 16, 1962.
Patsy was preceded in death by her father Raymond, and brother, Norman.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, sons Terry and Tom, and her daughter, Kathy, and four grandchildren, Michael Schad, Jeremy Antenen, Christopher and Brenna Henderson. She is also survived by her mother, Marcella Dreiling of Chapman; three sisters, Charlene Herman of Chapman, Mary Jean Hooper of Dallas, Texas, and Lorraine Leach of Overland Park, Kansas; and one brother, Marvin Dreiling of Chapman, Kansas.
