On Monday April 13, 2010 Pamela Jena "Pam" Weeks, 61, of Junction City passed away at Geary Community Hospital with her loving husband John Harlen Weeks at her side. Funeral services for Pamela Weeks will be at 11 am Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 804 N. Jefferson St., with Reverend Dr. Kenton Van officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 16, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel; 203 N. Washington St. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of KS, P.O. Box 3116, Wichita, KS 67201 or the National Kidney Foundation of Kansas, 6405 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66202.
Pam was born October 14, 1948 to Marion and Dixie (Frazier) Adams in Junction City, Kansas. She graduated from Junction City High School May 1966. The following year she met and married John H. Weeks of White City, KS. They were wed on October 27, 1967 at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City. On July 17, 1972 Pam Weeks became a mother giving birth to John Corey Weeks. On November 26, 1975 the family expanded with the addition of Shawn Adam Weeks. She was later blessed to have two grandchildren, the light of her life, Jenna and Colton Weeks, son and daughter of Shawn Weeks.
Pam Weeks was a loving wife, caring mother, compassionate nurse, and friend to all. She along with the family spent many hours camping and fishing at Milford Lake. Pam was involved in the community as President of the Sheridan Elementary School PTA, President of the city PTA, and she coordinated the city wide arts and science fair. She was also a certified CPR instructor for many years.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Alice (Erickson) Frazier of Chapman, KS, her parents Marion and Dixie (Frazier) of Junction City, KS, her parents in law Cliff and Geraldine (Longdon) Weeks of Council Grove, KS.
She is survived by her husband, John Weeks of the home, her sons and daughter-in-law, John Corey Weeks of Centerton, AR and Shawn Adam and Angie Weeks of Junction City, KS. Four grandchildren, Jenna and Colton Weeks and Alyssa and Alaina New. Her brother Jim Adams of Olathe, KS and her stepsister Cindy Cohen of Junction City.
