Otha Lee Page Ormond, 90, of Junction City, KS, passed away on July 20, 2019.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Second Missionary Baptist Church of Junction City, KS, 701 West 10th St., with Dr. Larry E. Jones officiating.

Visitation will be held an hour before service at 10:00 a.m.

A small committal gathering is scheduled for Tuesday July 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley, KS, 5181 Wildcat Creek Road, Manhattan, KS, where family and friends will share prayers, words of comfort, and condolences.

Otha was born on December 9, 1928 in Uniontown, AL to the late Tom and Ethel (Sanders) Page. She was the eldest of fourteen children.

Christian life began early at Greenleaf Baptist Church, Marion, AL; later became a member of Providence Baptist Church, Buffalo, NY. After relocating to Junction City, KS in September 2016, she became a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and delighted in being a servant for the Lord and singing in the Church Choir.

Otha was a Homemaker, and she loved cooking for family. In her own words, she wanted something with "a good taste".

Otha had a passion for horses and simply took pleasure in the great outdoors. She loved to travel, relax in nice hotels, fine dining and "a good cup of coffee". Grandchildren still speak fondly of taking walks around the blocks and watching her favorite TV shows. There was a special place in her heart for all children. She loved her siblings and enjoyed spending time with them. To her family, she was the most unselfish person, giving to anyone in need.

Otha was united in marriage to Dement Melvin Ormond, Sr. on September 14, 1950 in Bessemer, AL. With this union were three children. Dement preceded her in death.

Otha is survived by her three children Patricia A. Ormond Peeples of Getzville, NY, Dement M. Ormond, Jr. of Buffalo, NY, and Veneta J. Ormond (Joseph) Williams of Junction City, KS; Eight grandchildren Tiffany D. Ormond Peeples, Andre D. Ormond (Rebecca) Peeples, Demetrius J. O. Williams, Tiffane L. Ellington, Airol A. Ormond, Deah L. Ormond, Dement D. Ormond and Cheyenne E. Ormond; Twelve great-grandchildren Milan A. Howell, Timothy K. Knox, Marcus Cole III, Chase M. A. Carr, Domenico H. McDonald, Demya A. J. Ormond, Aries A. Cole, Delaina N. McDonald, Isabella S. R. Ormond, Morgan L. McDowell, Kameryn M. Peeples, and Zoey A. Peeples; Two brothers William A. (Earlie) Page and Earl L. Page; Two sisters Vera J. Taylor, Barbara J. Hopkins; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by Four sisters Dorothy M. McCurdy, Sadie B. Harris, Geraldine Hooks, Ethel O. Walker; Five brothers Roosevelt Page, Herman Page, Andrew L. Page, Thomas J. Page and Dwight D. Page; and a granddaughter Dionne L. Russell.
