Orgie Janice Gartrell

Funeral services for Orgie Janice Gartrell, 62, will be held at 3:00PM, Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Junction City, Kansas. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Junction City, KS. No visitation will be held, but Mrs. Gartrell will lie in state on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline, Junction City from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Gartrell died Monday, July 16, 2007 at the Geary Community Hospital.

Born July 20, 1944, in Lake City, South Carolina, Orgie was the daughter of Robert Lee and Carrie (Washington) Singletary. She worked for the area Head Start and was a member of the New Church of the Living God in Junction City, Kansas where she was on the Usher Board and in the Senior Choir.

Mrs. Gartrell was preceded in death by her parents.
