Norma Elena Green, 74, of Junction City, KS, passed away on February 8, 2017. There will be a gathering of friends and family to share her life at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the V.F.W. Post 8773. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 3:00 pm with a visitation the hour before services at the First Christian Church, 1429 St. Marys Rd., Junction City, KS. Cremation will follow the services.
Norma was born on December 8, 1942 in Colon, Panama to Kenneth and Marion (Welch) Griffith. On September 27, 1969, she married James Green of Panama City, Florida, at Fort Davis, Panama. They moved to many locations, foreign and domestic, due to James' commitment to the United States Army. They moved to Junction City, Kansas in 1984 and have lived there since his retirement.
She worked in Civil Service on Fort Riley, Kansas, for over 25 years. Over the years she earned many awards and decorations for her commitment and work ethic. She would tell anyone that her ultimate achievement was being a devoted mother and wife.
Norma is survived by her loving Husband, James; her Two Sons, Darrel Edward Green of Wichita, KS, and Derrick Vincent (Misty) Green of Shawnee, KS; One Granddaughter, Makenna Green of Wichita, KS; Twin Grand-sons, Xander Philip Green and Thayer James Green of Shawnee, KS; Brother, Kenneth Griffith Jr. of Panama; Nephew, Kenneth Griffith III; Three Nieces, Meliza Mitchell, Angelica Snipes, and Cicely Gondola; and a host of loving family.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Marion Lucille (Welch) Griffith, Father, Kenneth Vincent Griffith, and Sister, Beryl Griffith.
