Nelson Brougher, 74, Wakefield, KS, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home in Wakefield. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the family residence in Wakefield. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the American Cancer Society.
Nelson was born January 16, 1945, the son of Bruce and Thelma (Moreland) Brougher.
Nelson worked as an auto mechanic for many years. Nelson enjoyed collecting antiques and going to auctions. He enjoyed Nascar racing and watching western movies. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include his long time companion Sandra Pinner Arizona City, AZ; one son, Bruce Nelson Brougher, III; three daughters, Twila Shaw of Port St. Lucie, Fl, Dana Nelson of Phoenix, AZ and Amber Zoeller of Manhattan, KS; eight grandchildren, Blaise Shaw, Ashley Nelson, Tiffany Nelson, Kelsey Ryder, Casey Zoeller, Jessica Threkeld, Jamie Armstrong and Jordan Clardy; five great-grandchildren, Sophia, Tyrice, Savannah, Bailey and Emily.
Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan Brougher and one sister, Averill Mochamer.
