Nancy Rebecca Wright, 78, of Junction City, died Feb. 5, 2016 at Via Christi Medical Center in Manhattan. Nancy was born Aug. 30, 1937 in Placid, Texas, the daughter of John W. & Una Belle (Turnell) Squires.
Nancy grew up and attended schools in Placid, Texas. She moved to Junction City in 1964. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and in later years enjoyed playing the lottery. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: 3 sons, Clifford Wayne Sommerville and his wife Donna, Gary Glacken and his wife Virginia, & John Glacken and his wife Mary, all of Junction City; a daughter, Betty Wright, Junction City; 2 brothers; 9 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; & 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, with Pastor Ronnie Roberts presiding. Cremation will follow the service. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, 6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Johnson Cancer Research Fund, sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441.
