Nancy Virginia Thompson of Junction City died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003. She was 73. She died at Rossville Valley Manor in Rossville, Kan. Nancy was born December 18, 1929 to Louis E. and Virginia (Hurd) Marsh at Covington, KY. She graduated from Simon-Kenton High School at Independence, KY.
Nancy married James "Bill" Thompson May 21, 1952 at Covington, KY, she was a homemaker most of her life, she volunteered with numerous communities within Fort Riley, KS and Fort Knox, KY, she was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband James "Bill" Thompson of Junction City, Two sons: Louis M. Thompson of Junction City and James "Bill" Thompson, Jr. of Rossville, One Daughter: Deborah Jean Haden of Palmdale, CA, Two Brothers: Fred Marsh of Winterhaven, Fl, Ralph Marsh of Erlanger, KY, One Sister: Berniece Smith of Carrollton, KY, Seven Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral service honoring her life will be Friday, Aug. 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Casket bearers will be Louis Thompson, Bill Thompson, Jr., Mark Haden, Randy Jones, James Cadle and Jeff LaCroix. Organist will be Grace Brian and Vocalist will be James Cadle.
