A Celebration of life for Nancy Biggs, 58, of Junction City will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Mrs. Biggs passed away at Geary Community Hospital on October 9, 2009. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been designated to the Alzheimer's Association, Topeka Chapter, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr., Suite LL-15, Topeka, KS 66601 and First Presbyterian Church, 113 W. 5th Street, Junction City, KS 66441.
Nancy was born May 31, 1951 Junction City, KS to Roy E. and Marjorie L. (Fitzpatrick) Taylor, Sr. She was a lifetime resident of Junction City and worked for USD 475 as a Para Professional for over 30 years most recently with Lincoln Elementary for the past nine years. Nancy had also worked as the manager for the City Municipal Pool for many years and had volunteered with the 12th Street Community Center helping in many aspects with children. She was a member of Kiwanis and was involved with the Kiwanis Key Club where she worked with many children as well. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by her family, co-workers, students and many friends.
She married Larry Biggs on February 24, 1975 at the First Presbyterian Church he survives of the home.
She is also survived by her parents Roy and Marjorie Taylor, Sr., two daughters: Jennifer and husband Billy Kohlmann and Carolyn Dasher, four grandchildren; Haley Kohlmann and Lexie Kohlmann, Marissa Biggs and Jordan Biggs all of Junction City, KS, four brothers; Steve and wife Marsha Taylor, Pat and wife Julie Taylor all of Salina, KS, Roy and wife Judy Taylor,Jr., of Topeka, KS, Mike and Wife Alana Taylor of Halstead, KS, three sisters; Bonnie and husband Joe Schooler of Clever, MO, Diane and husband Ron Cole of Jetmore, KS and Lois Cole of Winfield, KS.
