Nadine Clare Walker, 80, Junction City, KS, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan, KS. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street Junction City, KS. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. The Reverend Dr. Dyton L. Owen will officiate. A private burial will be held at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Lyle House at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, 2121 Meadowlark Road Manhattan, KS 66502 or to the First United Methodist Church, 804 N. Jefferson Street Junction City, KS 66441.

Nadine was born December 7, 1935, in Junction City, KS, the daughter of Leslie E. and Bethel I Stebbins Jaecke.

Nadine worked many years as a Supply Clerk at Fort Riley. She graduated from the Junction City High School with the class of 1953. She attended Kansas State University for a short period. She finished her schooling at Brown Mackie College. As a young woman, she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge where she was the Chapter Pianist. Nadine was very active as a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts Pack 64 in Junction City and was a founding member of the Twin Dam Sams Chapter of the Good Sam Camper Club.

She married Ray Walker April 20, 1958, in Junction City, KS. He proposed marriage to her on the front steps of the First United Methodist Church in Junction City, where they were lifelong members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray and one son, Richard Ray Walker.

Survivors include son, Andrew Christopher Walker and his wife Karen Marie of Topeka, KS; daughter, Theresa Marie Elzinga and her husband Mark of Wichita; four grandchildren, Christopher Elzinga, Amber (Elzinga) Sanchez and her husband Robert, Matthew Elzinga and Patrick Elzinga. She is also survived by one great-grandson Brighton Sanchez and one great grandchild on the way. She is survived by her Brother, Wayne Jaecke and his wife Rodella, of Junction City.
